The exercise below is based on the Reading and Writing with JAWS lesson. Please feel free to refer to the lesson or any other resource while completing this assignment. |
Questions 1 & 2 concern this example document: example document 1 |
1. Open example document 1, copy all the text and place it into a new Word document. Use JAWS to read the document from start to finish. |
2. Remove all the instances of the character X from the second paragraph. |
Questions 3, 4, & 5 concern this example document: example document 2 |
3. Open example document 2. Add all three paragraphs to the end of the new document you created in question 1. |
4. Delete the second paragraph from example document 2 out of your new document. |
5. Cut the 4th sentence of the last paragraph of your document, and paste it at the between the first and second paragraph. |
For questions 6 to 9, match the JAWS or Windows function to the hotkey: |
6. Select all text in the active document |
a. Insert + Numpad 4 |
7. Select the next paragraph |
b. Win + Ctrl + Alt + Page Down |
8. Read the previous word |
c. Shift + Ctrl + Numpad 2 |
9. Permanently decrease speech rate |
d. Alt + A |
For question 10, simply add onto the end of the new document you created for this exercise. |
